Todd. thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree wholeheartedly and echo/share your experiences as well. I think the key of small or large groups is unity, intentionality, and clear and commented vision. blessings on Grace's trips this summer!

I'm actually really confused about what God is calling me to do at the moment. I'm at a crossroads - though maybe not really because I'm only 20 years old and I don't really think that destiny or divine control means that decisions we make are irrevocable or cause us to be cast in cement blocks forever. Still, it feels like a crossroads. I'm at the end of my sophomore year in college. I can either be a psychology major and dance and Spanish minor and go on to graduate school for dance therapy, or I could do an applied linguistics or education major and finish undergrad with a teaching license. There are different parts of each plan that appeal to me, and different parts of each that don't. Still, when I really thought I would do applied linguistics and push off dance therapy, a little part of my insides screamed and died. I heard it and felt it. I don't want to be poor (dance therapists don't make much money and I'd have to find a way to pay for grad school), but at the same time, I don't want to make a decision that will be the first step in a lifetime of giving up on my dreams and selling out to the man. If I feel that God is calling me from two different roads at the same time (I teach English privately and I love it, but majoring in it would mean I can't study what I really want to study - psychology and dance), what do I do? Also, I'm Jewish not Christian, so telling me to ask Jesus is not exactly going to help. And I ask God all the time, but He seems to be saying by His silence that I have to decide by myself.

This is so very helpful. Our church is doing an interactive stations of the cross exhibit on Good Friday. I would like to use this reflection in my station and I will surely give you credit. Blessings to you!

Hi Todd,

Nice blog! Thanks for leaving a link and a reminder of it in the weekly parent update. Please do that occasionally so we parents can remember to jump in more often.

Wow, those Think Orange bullets above are great. It's true the weekly message in church and home definately needs to be in Sync and I thank you and the staff for giving us the summary now in your parent update. I copy it to my android calendar every week for Sunday evening dinner discussion.

Integrating parents and kids into seamless (and not competing) ministries, syncing messages and running parent/teen programs are all great ideas. I know implementation is always the tough part.

Thanks for your thoughts. I hope other parents comment.

I can push my kids to walk the dog in the rain, and I can push them to be at church on time. I might be able to force them to be "religious" (but I wouldn't.) Can I push them to follow Jesus in an authentic way?
I can't wait to read your posts Todd.
